Sodium Hypochlorite has been produced by the process of electrolysis. This will be generated on-site with the help of Brine solution. It is much efficient in the protection of equipment from the growth of micro organic fouling and control of algae's.
• Electrolysis occur in an undivided cell when a DC current is passed through a brine water solution.
• At the Anode: Oxidation of chloride ions to produce chlorine (Cl2)
• At the Cathode: Reduction of water to produce sodium hydroxide (NaOH) and hydrogen (H2)
• Liberated chlorine reacts with the sodium hydroxide to produce sodium hypochlorite (NaOCl) instantaneously.
