Brine is a solution of sodium chloride (NaCl) and water (H2O). The process of electrolysis involves using an electrical current to bring about a chemical change and make new chemical. The electrolysis of brine is a large scale process used to manufacture chlorine from salt.
Electro chlorination is the process of producing hypochlorite by passing electric current through salt water. This disinfects the water and makes it safe for human use, such as for drinking water or swimming pools.
The positive and the negative power input points are located, each electrode has a MMO coated portion (anode) and a non-MMO coated portion (cathode). DC current is delivered to the positive coated terminal electrode face, emitted from that electrode face through the electrolyte, then it is received on the cathode face of the adjacent plate and passes through the plate to the anode face of the same electrode.
Ø The system generates low concentration of sodium hypochlorite solution on-site.
Ø It is simple for operation, maintenance free and non-hazardous system.
Ø No chemicals needed other than Food grade pure salt without additives (99.5%).
Ø Dosing of hypochlorite makes drinking water germ-free, odour-free and safe.
The electrodes are devices with high conductivity and corrosion resistance to use as anode for electrolysis. They are made by pure titanium substrate. MMO coated with that is Ruthenium oxide, Iridium oxide, which reduces the surface resistance also act as catalyses to attain the desired reaction, such as the production of chlorine, hydrogen, caustic, etc…,
